The Culture of University
Mehdi Golshani [1]
Culture is an institution consisting of beliefs, arts and habits. It is an organized system reflecting the moralities, national heritage and ethnic characteristics of the members of a society which also builds up the mentality and behavior of the constituents of that society as well as their conception of the order of existence and creation, and the status of mankind and the position that he occupies in the universe and in the whole of creation. It also provides humankind’s behavior in relation to one another with sense and significance.
Unfortunately concerned with the development of new sciences, the universities of the Islamic world including those of our beloved country, have focused merely and foremost on the education of science tending to neglect the three main basis of culture which are philosophy and metaphysics, moralities and divine insights. This is one of the main deficiencies in the culture of our universities.
It is now crucially important to pay serious attention to the cultural aspects of the universities and to consider the promoting of the culture of our university students as the main priority.

Consistent Learning: the Solid Guideline
of the Teaching and Learning
Hadi pourshafei‘ [۳]
Today the impact of the Teaching and Learning on the future of human society can not be underestimated. The foundation of social integration, economic progress, a stable development, enlightenment of mankind, and peace and friendship are all based upon the giving and takings of the Teaching and Learning. However the knowledge achieved during the primary education does not seem to be sufficient or adequate enough to materialize the attainment of such sublime objectives. Consequently a radical review of the structure, methodology, content and the organizing procedures, which focuses in particular on the learning schemes and guidelines and which lead to the improvement and promotion of the Teaching and Learning, is crucially important and required. The main objective is to involve the individuals in a constant and consistent process of learning consciously and in a responsible way, and to materialize and promote their share of the self learning by the institution, improvement, and stabilizing of the “consistent leaning” scheme.
In this article, while paying attention to the concepts of “education”, “teaching”, “learning” and in particular to the conception of “consistent learning” and its requirements in the rays of changes, also its promotion in the system of teaching and learning, ten propositions are suggested and details discussed. Each and every of the said propositions individually and in a collaboration to one another can have a significant impact on the promotion and development of the “consistent learning” in the system of education.
An Introduction to the
Theoretical discussions on Punctuation
Mehdi ‘asareh [4]
Since many years ago, The Ministry of Teaching and Learning in the company of other sectors of Iran’s system of education and with reference to credible sources on the subject have made substantial attempts to apply this kind of editing in its best possible way in the educational text books.
The solid determination and efforts of the Ministry to fulfill the said task has in fact led to the publication of the Editing Guidelines for the Educational text books and Materials in the of April 2006.
This however does not signify a total absence of any kinds of errors and negligence in the edition of the school text books and other academic materials. For this reason also as an attempt to illuminate and to improve the implementation of technical editing in the best possible way in order to produce better scholarly materials, this article in its discussions on technical editing focuses on several cases of inadequacy and inefficacy occurred in the academic materials in particular in the case of the primary school’s teaching materials.

Dr. Mujtahidi, Iran’s immortal personality of the year 2002 in science, was born in Tabriz in 1930. At the age of 18, he left Iran for France to pursue his education and studied philosophy at the University of Sorbonne. Following the completion of his master dissertation which had the title of: “Studies in Immanuel Kant’s (1724-1804) theory of Perception” under the supervision of Jean Wahl, Dr. Mujtahidi returned to Iran for a short time. He departed again for France after some time in order to pursue his higher education. Dr. Mujtahidi submitted his doctorate dissertation under the guidance of professor Gondillac. His thesis retained a comparative point of view and was related to the philosophy of the eastern world.
To compile his thesis Dr. Mujtahidi also benefited substantially from Professor Henry Corbin’s points of view. In 1964 after the completion of his doctorate degree he returned to Iran, and soon afterwards started teaching at the department of philosophy in Tehran University.
The interview with Dr. Mujtahidi was the appropriate opportunity to launch the question of the importation of modern thoughts to Iran and to focus on investigating the views of a philosopher in this regard.

The Schemes and Organizations of Education
in Ancient Iran
Nasir Takmil Humayoun [9]
The identification of the schemes of education and related organizations as one of the essential bases for historical studies in culture has been of the main focuses amongst the historians and the researchers of sociology. Due to the correlative applications, systems of values, (i.e. religion, and social and national beliefs) family, as well as the relative agreements with the governing and economic organizations, this importance has been further emphasized and its scientific domain has over passed the fields of history and sociology comprising the areas of psychology as well as certain others domains such as morality and high social values.
In “The Identification of Schemes and Organizations of Education in Ancient Iran”, the research project which has been recently completed, the author individually and in a committed and responsible way has investigated this issue as the main base of existence and social evolution of the geographically defined Land of Iran in various time periods from the earliest to the present day. This article aims to provide a brief account of this research projects.

Jami and Society
Soheyla Sarimy[10]
Jami the poet and thinker of Iran in the fifteenth century, belongs to the group of poets who in spite of their friendship and closeness to the court of the Timurids and despite of praising them in their verses and works in poetry, kept a critical view on the ruling class.
An interesting portion of Jam’s substantial wealth was gained through his good rapports with the court of the Timurids. Nonetheless, inspired by the values and principles of the Naqshbandieh Order, also due to his own good wills and wishes for the human race, and because of his concerns as a poet, he in his poetry doesn’t cease to oppose the injustice of the oppressive rulers and to express signs of his deep sympathy for the oppressed classes of society and in deed devotes several lines of his poems to defending them.
In his letters and other writings, Jami alludes to a good number of the court and administrative problems and inadequacies, as well as to the incompetence of the tax systems during the Timurid dynasty, the variety of taxation in that period, and its impact on the society and the social issues. He also reflects many of the customs and traditions as well as moral values of his time which this research projects aims to investigate and study.

Digital Libraries and their Practicality in the Fields of
Humanities and Social Sciences
Faraj’ullah ‘Ali Qanbary [12]
The emerge of radical changes in the applied sciences and the present day revolution in the technology and application of communication assets have caused an evolution in the applied methodology in scientific research works and investigations. In the present century it is no longer sufficient and efficient to search sources in the books and periodicals or other printed materials, and to look for them on the micro films compiled and maintained in traditional libraries.
Today a researcher needs to be also equipped with the knowledge and the skill of using modern systems of search and reference investigations applied in credited libraries such as data banks, electronic books and periodicals, recording diskette and web sites, in order to retain his data up to date and to render his research work scientifically valid.
This evolution in data collection and the compilation of information has caused in its own good turn fundamental changes in the process, procedure and the strategy of searching scientific sources and information. Consequently the skill and knowledge to make use of the computer and the internet facilities and services provided for search and investigation of information and to access first hand materials is inevitability crucial, and the credibility and /or the incredibility of a research work today depends indeed on them.
