The world we are living in today retains significant deviations comparing to the world of the Middle Ages. These disagreements mainly and foremost could be attributed to the emerge and the development of the new science and technology . The progresses which over the past two centuries have taken place in physical sciences and biology have opened up our scope of understanding of the world and in fact of the whole universe in an incredible way . In the same manner, the developments which are materialized in the practical application of science have presented us with substantial ability to overcome the powers of nature and to have control over human minds . At the same time, scientific and technological knowledge have increased human kind’s physical contentment and the standards of his quality life in an astonishing way . These evolutions and advancements at the same time have also caused certain consequences to which the present article pays attention .

It goes without saying that the critics have the capability of being and are in fact also quite rightfully expected to act as the cultivators of the human being’s thought, insight and art, rather than conducting as the exploiters ruining and destroying the entire of human kind’s intelligence by their hostile axes leaving hardly any branches in the garden of human being’s intellect and his highly creative insight safe, secure and unharmed . Our critics today have in reality mainly and mostly the personality and the characteristics of the destructive axe holders rather than being members of the cultivators’ party . It is therefore no exaggeration to claim that the criticism of art and though in this country and at the present time has a gloomy and hurtful perspective and ambiance, and what is said about poetry that is : “the poems are to be written for the sake of the others rather than for the poet’s own heart”, is in fact also true in the case of criticism. In other words criticisms are to be written for the sake of the others rather than for the authors own personal purpose .

A critic could none the less address the public or the elites , intellectuals , artists, authors, poets, thinkers, etc . For the latter the critic can even reach the status of acting as a leader whilst keeping also to enlighten the minds of the ordinary people, and therefore he or she can and should also intend to act as a guide “to lead and to enlighten” the minds simultaneously and as complements to one another by his or her realistic criticisms .

A glance at the actual history and story of criticism in our country indicates that our critics whoever and whatever they might be , have well ignored the true concept and application of criticism from the mentioned perspectives .

The co – relation between theology and science and its characteristic has been one of the unresolved and on going issues which started in the west following the confrontation of the churches with the scientists in the Middle Ages . Whilst rejecting those points of view which introduce theology incapable of providing us with a comprehensive interpretation of the whole of the creation, the author of the present article attempts to provide an adequate and comprehensive explanation for the reflection of science in a fundamentalist perspective and via which to identify and clarify the causes and the bases for the defeat of fundamentalism in science .

In the final discussion of this article with respect to the picture which has been presented in chapter 3 of the book in question in order to reflect the emerge and evolution of science, the attitude and reception of religious communities vis a vis the science has been studied and discussed .

Finally the conclusion emphasizes that by accepting the possible conflicts between the religious beliefs of the masses and the new science in particular in western countries, the discussions and debates over such issues should be looked upon as a rational consequence rather than the start of confronting debates .

It is rather an inter -disciplinary field which would assist many scientific domains in particular various branches of human sciences and which would in fact retain crucial impacts on the fundamental identification of their issues and on the materialization of their solutions. In the world of literature and journalism today also there is a substantial and undeniable need for linguistics .

The interview with Dr. Iran Kalbasi who has been working on dialectology for many years and who in particular has a substantial knowledge of Iranian dialects has been a valuable opportunity to get to know also the ongoing issues of Persian language today.

Dr. Zuhra Zarshinas was born in Tehran in November 1335 / 1956. After having completed her master studies in Ancient Culture and Languages at the University of Tehran , she passed the entrance exam of the University of Tehran in 1357 / 1978 as the top student in order to pursue her doctorate studies in the field of Ancient Culture and Languages . Dr. Zarshinas completed her doctorate studies in the said field successfully and was graduated from the University of Tehran in 1365 / 1986 .

Her main field of expertise is Soghdi language. Dr. Zarshinas has already written more than 70 articles and has published them in the national scientific and research journals in Iran . She has also presented certain papers in English at the international conferences and journals outside the country which are all mainly and foremost written either specifically on and about Soghdi language , or devoted to the field of the ancient languages of Iran. Dr. Zuhra Zarshinas has translated The Six Soghdi Texts , from Soghdi to contemporary Persian which is accompanied by an interpretation of the specific expressions of the Buddhist faith . Dr. Zuhra Zarshinas believes that more research works need to be done on the languages which are no longer in use or spoken in order to be able to translate them into present day Persian .
